Changing Your Profile Password

With WordPress 2.9.x, you will get a reminder at the top of the Admin page asking if you would like to change your WordPress admin password.

Reminder: WordPress usernames and passwords are CaSE SeNsiTiVE! Make sure you take down your details correctly and with the right capital or lowercase letters.

Notes:

If you DO decide you want to change your password to something more memorable, then remember that if it is easily guessed then you may be causing a security problem for yourself.

Always:

  • create a password more than 8 characters long
  • use letters, numbers and even symbols
  • store your password somewhere safe (and remember what email you used, just in case you need WordPress to send you your password!)
